on/off is dedicated to the metaphor of the switcher as the simplest example of a dialectic couple of differentiated states. The installation module wants to embody the image of a switcher the visitor can go through, accessing an imaginary circuit. The idea is to suggest/signify a view from the inside, a shift of dimensions and spatial relations.Three layers of movable wall modules are lined-up between the side-walls of the space. The wall modules are driven by motors, where the motors’ stop and go is controlled by ultra-sonic sensors. The path of each wall module is reflecting variable spatial relations, reacting both to the edges of the given space and to the movement of the visitors. Both, the view into the space and out of it, are framed as a composed images, which continuously changes due to the intervals of the slow motors moving the wall modules.
